Fascial February!

Well, don’t just sit there.. GET UP & MOVE!!! 🕺🏻💃🏻

We’re declaring this month as Fascial February!!!

So you might be wondering, what is fascia? 🤔 It is a thin casing of connective tissue, the most abundant tissue in our body that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fibre and muscle in place. The tissue does more than provide internal structure; fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin. When stressed, it tightens up but it’s designed to stretch as you move and to glide over itself.

But what happens when the fascia thickens and become sticky? 👂🏻📢 Listen in as Claire talks more about a healthy fascia and what we should do to keep it as healthy as possible.

📍 Also stay tuned for the videos next week and the entire ‘Fascial February’ as we share with you some additional knowledge about movement and things that we can do that will help our body improve, break our usual patterns, and get us out and about some more! 🏃🏻‍♀️💪🏻👟

Stay hydrated – we are 70% water and we are like a river.

Stay hydrated – we are 70% water and we are like a river.

So, you would imagine the fluids flowing through our bodies like a river. But what happens when there’s a narrowing in the river? 🤔 Stuff accumulates and they get stuck – this is somehow similar to what happens with our ankles, knees, hips and shoulders.

Thus, we work on those areas with specific movements and use some tools like pressure balls, rollers, and torture sticks. ⚽😎

We have to roll over the muscles and bones and do slight movements just to release and rehydrate. Try this every now and then and experience the difference. 😉🙌🏻

✔️Stretch
✔️Loosen up
✔️Get those bones and muscles moving!
